HOW IT ALL STARTED 

Troy Insurance Group was founded by Kelly Troy after many years as an entrepreneur and real estate investor due to the lack of professional knowledge that he had experienced regarding his own insurance needs.

With an accomplished background and first-hand experience in manufacturing, entrepreneurship, business management, real estate investing, and many other areas of expertise, Kelly founded the company determined to distinguish it from other ’one size fits all’ insurance brokerages and impersonal internet-based providers by focusing on the specific needs and interests of customers.  The company’s mission was, and still is, to serve as a professional advocate for our customers and to provide value by offering risk management services for our commercial clients.  Kelly was recognized as one of the top 25 commercial agents in Texas (from 5,000 other candidates) while previously under contract with Farmers Insurance Group and his agency was highlighted as a ‘model agency’ within the state of Texas.

 

BECOMING AN INDEPENDENT BROKERAGE 

In January 2008, Troy Insurance Group chose to terminate its captive contract and become a fully independent brokerage, developing strong relationships with a variety of insurance markets and providing clients with a better selection of insurance products and services. The company has been continually growing and improving ever since.

As part of this growth, it was recognized that there was a tremendous lack of insurance-related resources for real estate investors and related entrepreneurs. Because of Kelly’s background and investing experience, Troy Insurance Group developed and established its own brand and brokerage designed specifically for real estate investors and related professionals such as loan servicers, property managers, commercial property owners, and similar.  This brand, InsuranceForInvestors.com, provides custom insurance solutions for all manner of investing-related risks, from seller-financed ‘wraparound’ mortgages to bonds, comprehensive liability, scheduled-property policies, vacant homes, short-term rentals, and much much more.

Currently, both companies are licensed and doing business in Texas, California, Georgia, Florida, New York, North Carolina, and South Carolina with the other states being added to our available markets.

Due to our reputation and expertise in the area of property and casualty insurance, Troy Insurance Group formed a strategic alliance with Capital Benefits Group in order to create a true ‘one call solution’ for all insurance related needs.
